Homeschooling Day 24

Today was one of those magical days where the ordinary turned extraordinary through the eyes of my little one. It all started with a gleeful shout: “My car is going up the slide!” Yes, you read that right. In our backyard, the toy cars weren’t just zooming along the ground—they were scaling the slide like tiny, fearless adventurers. My kiddo’s imagination transformed our modest playground into a racetrack for epic stunts. I couldn’t help but laugh as each car took its turn, accompanied by sound effects only a four-year-old could master.

After the automotive acrobatics, it was time to wind down indoors. “Mama said I can just relax, watch TV, and eat my fruits,” my little one declared with the confidence of someone who’d just negotiated world peace. So, we snuggled up with a bowl of sliced strawberries and bananas, letting the colorful world of cartoons take over. There’s something so pure about these moments—sticky fingers, giggles, and the occasional fruit chunk tumbling onto the couch. It’s messy, but it’s our kind of perfect.

The grand finale of our day? Play dough time! Oh, the joy of squishing, rolling, and shaping that vibrant dough into everything from wonky pizzas to “monster trucks” (which looked suspiciously like lumpy pancakes). The kitchen table became a canvas for creativity, with bits of blue and red dough sneaking into every crevice. My kiddo’s focus was intense, tongue peeking out as they sculpted their masterpieces. I joined in, attempting a play dough cat that was politely called “a nice potato” by my tiny art critic.

Days like these remind me how the simplest things—backyard slides, a fruit-filled TV break, or a pile of play dough—can spark so much joy. Here’s to more afternoons where cars defy gravity and imaginations run wild!

Homeschooling Day 23

Today’s homeschooling lesson? A total detour. The plan was a neat little cut-and-paste activity about ecosystems. What actually happened? Scissors flew, glue went rogue, and suddenly we were deep into a spontaneous puppet show starring a paper-plate lion and a cardboard volcano.

At first, I started to reel it back in. But then I paused. This—this random, loud, wildly imaginative play—is exactly what I love most about homeschooling. Learning isn’t always tidy. Sometimes it looks like chaos and sounds like giggles. And honestly? That’s where the magic happens.

So we’re calling it “Creative Arts and Drama.” Boom. Lesson logged.

Hello? Who call me?

Homeschooling Day 22

It's waterplay today! Kristoff absolutely love to play water! So I just prepared a few cups and some times for him to play with in his bath tub.

Attending zoom lesson prepared by his school.

Since we  can't go out so he can only play with kinetic sands at home. It's not too bad too but it will be better if I have a bigger place for him. Haha.

"I'm tooooo tired.... Please let me just nap over here."

Homeschooling Day 21

Here come Kristoff with his colour pens! Lol!

I am abit lazy today so I didn't plan alot of stuff for him. I let with play with the magnetics toy to build things using his creativity.

I printout a worksheet for him to trace the circle.

I guess that is all for the day!

Homeschooling Day 20

 Let's do some colouring today!

Later in the afternoon, I let him play with his favourite construction toys where he learn how to turn the bolt as well.

I allowed him to play about 30mins with his ipad before he sleep. Sometimes it is really tough to keep him engaged and coming up with activities for him to play or learn but I will continue to do my best for him =)

Homeschooling Day 19: Jellyfish Crafting Adventures

Today, we embarked on a creative journey to make jellyfish—yes, jellyfish! Armed with paper plates and ribbons, we transformed our living room into an underwater craft studio. With a little help from me, my little one crafted his very own jellyfish, complete with wobbly tentacles. The excitement was palpable as he proudly displayed his creation, ready to add it to his growing collection of homemade wonders.

It's moments like these that make homeschooling so special. The freedom to explore, create, and learn together brings joy and laughter into our daily routine.

Homeschooling Day 18: Pom Poms and Progress

Today’s “classroom” was all about colors, glue, and a whole lot of creative energy. We kicked things off by finishing our caterpillar masterpiece—complete with fluffy pom poms! Then we slid into a color-sorting game (a sneaky way to learn, right?). He wrapped it up with some wild, interpretive coloring on a worksheet that may or may not look like the original picture anymore. 😅

But hey, I’m noticing real improvement in his drawing! It's messy, it's fun, and most importantly—he’s learning in his own quirky way. 💛

Pasting the caterpillar artwork we did previously with colour pom pom

After that I let him play colour sorting with the pom pom

Doing some colouring worksheet from the school. I think he is drawing all over the picture instead.

These days his drawing seems to make more sense now.

Homeschooling Day 17

Everyday I tried to keep myself motivated by thinking and bringing out more things for my son to play but not everytime it is successful. I took out the scratch art and he wasn't very interested. He only scratch it for a while and ran off. Even I myself find this thing boring. Lol!

So in the end I took out something else for him to play. I cut the straws and show him how to put it inside a string. He played with it for awhile and I make it into a necklace and disturb him. Hehe!

After dinner, I blew up different colours of the balloons and play tossing balloons with him. This is a very good way to drain out his energy so he will KO very fast. Haha!

Homeschooling Day 16

I think not many people know today is Earth Day. Few weeks ago, I started asking my son to colour the toilet rolls, painting on mahjong paper etc on different days. My parent joined in the fun as well. After that, I used the mahjong paper to wrap up used boxes, touched up his colouring and my hubby used cable tie to join up the train. My son enjoyed playing with his train done with recycled materials. I pretty proud of myself as I have not been doing much art & craft stuff since I left school.

Using balloon stamping method to paint the earth but I added more green than blue paint. Haha!

Before he sleeps, I took out the veg & fruit set. Teaching and letting him learn to identify different vegetables &fruits. I bough the set from ezbuy.

Homeschooling Day 15: ABCs

Today was a bit of a juggle—between running out for groceries and prepping dinner, I didn’t get to spend as much time with my little one as I wanted. But hey, we still squeezed in a mini learning session!

He practiced his ABCs with some colorful magnet letters I found on Qoo10, and honestly? He seemed to enjoy the independence. Even on busy days, we find little moments to learn together—and that’s a win in my book.

Homeschooling Day 14: Painting, Pom-Poms, and Playful Chaos

Today’s homeschool session was a blast of creativity mixed with a little bit of chaos! We started the day by painting acrylic keychains—my son did surprisingly well, sticking to the frame (mostly). Of course, a little paint ended up on his hands too, because why not? 😂

Later, as the day wound down, I introduced a color-sorting game using some cups (yes, the free Marigold ones!) and colorful pom-poms. It was a hit! I love how these simple activities can turn into big fun moments.
