How I spend 'Grow & Share' package money

I always wanted to post this but currently I am having my exam so I am 'really busy' studying. HAHA! Okay, so after much procrastination, I finally gonna blog about this. If you are a Singaporean, I bet you would have already received your  'Grow & Share' package on 1st May (or earlier) or worst YOU HAVE ALREADY FINISHED SPENDING EVERY SINGLE CENT! LOL! Well, I am not an expert in telling people how to manage their wealth but here is how I spent my money wisely...

1) Treat my parent at Dian Xiao Er to celebrate Mother's Day.

Who wont be happy when the food they gonna eat are free! Haha!

Duck Roasted with Ten Wonder Herb. My favourite dish! I love the crispy skin =D

Hong Kong Style Steamed Fish Slices.

Dong Po Pork
Chinese Spinach Superior Stock

Braised Assorted Mushroom w/ Broccoli

I spent about $120 for 4 pax. It is rather expensive because it is mother's day! All restaurant has mark up their price but it is still worth it because firstly, the money is given by our government, secondly, I make my parent happy =D Lastly, I get to eat also what! So this is money spent is definitely very wise! Lol!

Verdict: A cheeky win-win situation!

2) I bought  a new bag for myself to use when I start work in June!

I bought a striking hot pink bag from PrettyFit.

This bag cost me around $60+. This is actually the first time I spend more than $30 on a bag! Haha! I always change my bags so I don't find it necessary to spend so much money on a bag. Well, I still think it's worth it because...the money is given by our government and I LOVE THE COLOUR OF THIS BAG!

Verdict:  Another happy win-win situation!

3) I bought additional accessories for my camera!

Adaptor Tube + Lens Cap + Lens Hood + UV filter For 52m Panasonic DMC-LX3

This is how my overall camera look like =D Although it is a semi-pro camera but now it does look a little like DSLR.
I bought the additional accessories from ebay and it only cost me £9.47 which is about $20+ in SGD. Cheap cheap! Even if it is not as useful as wide angle lens BUT it definitely beautify my camera. =p

Verdict: Happy like-a-boss because it is a cheap buy!

I still left with few hundreds which I didn't spend it at all because I have decided to keep it for rainy days :) I have just shared with you how I spent my money. How about you? Anyway, it doesn't matter how you spend it, the real question is... "Have you spend it wisely?"

By the way, please take note that even though I keep saying "the money is given by our government " that doesn't mean the money is really from our government! If you still don't know, the money actually comes from the tax payers o_o So don't be so happy whenever you recieved this sum of money before the election =p

Dim Sum @ Geylang Lor 27

Craving for dim sum? Probably you can try out this Dim Sum stall at Geylang Lorong 27. It may not be the best but in my opinion its better than the overrated 126 搵到食 (Wan Dou Sek). The only plus points for Wan Dou Sek is that it has more variety. Haha! This stall is much cheaper and has more quantity. Worth a try =)

Fu Pi Juan

It's all about TASTE @ Ibis Hotel

Yesterday, I went out with my sis and co. and her hubby recommend this place to us as this place was recommended by the makan guru, KF Seetoh.

Order 3 different dishes for $15
Order 4 different dishes for $18
Order 5 different dishes for $22

They have a total of 20 different food to choose from and they are either from the Chinese, Malay or Indian Cuisine.

I didn't bring my camera out yesterday, so hopefully my photos still turn out good. Lol!

The roasted duck is really delicious. I love to eat the skin =p
4.5/5!

Char Kway Tiao taste nice too but it's abit oily.
4/5

Fried Hokkien mee is just so so as the taste of the noodle is quite strong.
2.5/5

Stingray is good and the chili is not very spicy.
4/5

Roti Prata with fish head curry. The prata is really very crispy! You can hardly find or perhaps you can't even find this type of prata selling in any parts of Singapore!

Dip the crispy prata in this fish head curry is simply heaven.
5/5!

The popiah is okay.
3/5

Mee Siam is marvelous! I think we drank the whole bowl of soup. Lol!
4.5/5

Nasi lemak is just slightly above average as the nasi (rich)'s fragrance is not enough and probably insufficient use of the coconut.
3.4/5

Next time if you are looking for some affordable and delicious food, try out this place. It might be 10/10 but at least it is not very expensive even though it's located inside a hotel. =)

Chill out session with colleagues

last night I went out with my colleagues to Dian Xiao Er for dinner. I must say the food is great as usual and our "tok cok" session was definitely very fun too. Lol!

1 of my colleague, JX, he likes to keep laughing whenever we said something but he is always very defensive and said he is not and even accused me of being the one who is "siao" and like to keep on laughing for no good reason. Nonetheless, the night was filled with fun, laughter and lots of nonsense. I also get to know them better. HAHA!

Anyway, here are some of food pictures. I didn't managed to get any photos of them. xD Probably next time =) We ordered the The Abundance Set.

Duck Roasted w/ Angelica Herb

Braised Assorted Mushroom w/ Broccoli

Braised Sharks Fin Broth w/ Crabmeat

We still have the Steamed Pomfret in Hunan Style and Healthy Yogurt but I already forget to take those pictures. Haha!

Dinner @ Xin Char Chan Teng (Jurong Point)

Im backdating some entry as I didn't post them up. Hehe.

This was taken I think last early March. We went to Xin cafe to eat as I'm really out of idea to eat what in Jurong Point -___- It's always foodcourt and the food there is not really that nice after all.

Grape juice =D

Seafood fried rice with sambal is really awesome!

Curry paste (chicken chop) is okay. Quite typical taste, nothing special.

Steam beancurd roll. Hmmm.. It supposed to be fu pi juan but it turn out to be like that -___- I'm disappointed.

Fried carrot cake with XO sauce. Haha! I can't even taste the XO lor! Nonetheless this dish is not bad.

Ok here's the bill.. Not really worth the price. So I shall not go there again.

Some people might think that that I am rich or whatever because I am not working now and yet I can keep going from place to place to eat good stuff. First I'd like to say, these aren't very expensive food! They aren't fine dinning and lastly I am not the one paying for it! Lol! Even if I do pay, he doesn't want me to give a single cent. So the morale of the story is... I am still a poor student. HAHA!!

Pu Tien @ Jurong Point

My sis's hubby's mother came to Singapore, so my mama decided to bring her and our family to Pu Tien to have our dinner. Finally, this time we get to eat this as the previous time they queue was too long. We don't really like to WAIT! Hehe!

We ordered cuisine for 6 @ $188 (Set B)

Ben: "Why wait so long.....-__-"

My 2nd serving =D

The eagle looks really nice and must be make use of several carrots to carve it. the lobster is just so so, I can't even taste any tiny bits of the cheese taste -___-

A close up of the eagle.

A close up of the lobster

Stir-fried yam
I hate to eat yam but surprisingly this is really nice to eat. It's very crunchy.

Bamboo pith & mushroom in supreme stock
Not my cup of tea but the overall taste is ok.

Fried "Hing Wah" bee hoon
It's not the normal bee hoon that you usually eat. Tasted not too bad.

Complimentary fruit platter.

My dad, a happy customer?

Overall, I will give it a 6/10. Not much of a wow factor but their service is good. I will rather pay lesser and head over to Dian Xiao Er to eat.
